Re-entry Permit
Re-entry Permit: travel abroad and keep your ED Visa
Going home for a holiday or taking a short trip? Before you leave Thailand, you need a re-entry permit. Without one, your ED Visa ends the moment you leave the country, and you would have to apply for a new visa from abroad.
Why you need it
Your ED Visa and each extension let you stay in Thailand, but they do not let you leave and come back. A re-entry permit keeps your current permission to stay active while you are away.
- A re-entry permit does not add any days. It only protects the time you already have.
- It ends when your current visa or extension ends.
