Why take the test first?
Most people guess their level, and the guess is often wrong. A class that is too easy wastes your time; a class that is too hard makes you lose confidence. The test helps us get it right from your first lesson.

What is in the test?
The questions start easy and get harder, from beginner to advanced. Nobody is expected to answer everything.

How it works
- Enter your details. Your full name, age, LINE ID and email, so we can send you your result and contact you about the right class.
- Take the test. About 75 minutes; the page allows 90 minutes. Your answers are saved in your browser if the page reloads.
- Get your result by email. You see your level on screen and we email it to you straight away.
- Our teacher contacts you. We read your writing, confirm your level and suggest the right course for you.
What do the levels mean?
We use the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), the international scale for language levels.
Tips for an accurate result
- Find a quiet place and use headphones or turn your sound on for the listening part.
- Use a computer or tablet if you can — it is easier for the writing part. Chrome, Safari or Edge work best.
- Don't use a dictionary, translator or help from others. We want to see your real level.
- If you don't know an answer, press I don't know instead of guessing.
Questions
Is the test really free?
Yes. There is no cost and no obligation to join a course.
Is this an official certificate?
No. It is a Bubble Language School placement test that uses CEFR levels as a guide. If you need an official score, we can help you prepare for IELTS and other exams.
Can I take it on my phone?
Yes, but a computer or tablet is easier for reading and writing.
What do you do with my details?
We use your name and contact details only to send you your result and to talk with you about English courses. We never share them with anyone else.
I'm already a Bubble student. Should I take this test?
Please ask your teacher. Current students take the placement test through a link from their teacher.
