So you have decided to learn Thai or English. Congratulations! That is the hardest step. The next question is a practical one: how do you actually want to study?
At Bubble Language School (BLS) in Bangkok, we teach Thai from beginner to advanced, and English for everyday life, work and exams like IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and SAT. You can join a group class or take private lessons, and you can study on site, online or a mix of both. All of our classes are suitable for learners of every level.
Let us walk through each option together, so you can find the one that fits your goals and schedule.
Group Classes: Learn With Friends
Group classes are a great choice if you enjoy energy, conversation and a bit of friendly competition. You practise with classmates who are on the same journey, and you hear many different voices and accents, which is very good for your listening skills.
A group class could be right for you if you:
- Like a regular routine and a clear timetable
- Want to meet new people and make friends in Bangkok
- Learn well by speaking, role play and games
- Feel motivated when other people are learning with you
Often the best part of a group class happens after the lesson, when you keep chatting with classmates and try your new words in real life. Our small classes also mean you still get plenty of time to speak.
Private Classes: Your Goals, Your Pace
Private lessons are one teacher and you. Everything is built around your goals, whether that is daily life, work or test preparation. If you need IELTS for a university application, or you want Thai you can use with your colleagues, a private class lets your teacher focus only on what you need.
Private classes are a good match if you:
- Have a busy or changing schedule and need flexible lesson times
- Are preparing for a specific exam or deadline
- Feel shy speaking in front of a group (this is very normal!)
- Want to move faster, or slow down, on certain topics
Our private classes offer flexible scheduling with weekly or monthly plans, so you can fit learning around work, family and travel.
Online Classes: Learn From Anywhere

Bangkok traffic is famous, and sometimes the rain decides your plans for you. Online classes solve both problems. You join your lesson from home, your office or anywhere with a good internet connection.
Online learning works best when you:
- Have a quiet place to study and a stable connection
- Live outside Bangkok, or travel often
- Want to save time on the commute
Tip: treat an online lesson like a real class. Turn off notifications and keep a notebook next to you.
Hybrid: The Best of Both Worlds
Hybrid learning simply means mixing on site and online lessons. Maybe you come to the school when you have time, and join online when you are busy or away. It is a handy option because life in Bangkok is rarely the same two weeks in a row.
Coming to Class in Person

Our school is in Wattana, Bangkok, on Soi Sukhumvit 81, close to BTS On Nut. If you live along the Sukhumvit line, it is an easy trip by Skytrain, and the area around On Nut has plenty of cafés and street food for a snack after class.
Studying on an ED Visa?
If you would like to stay in Thailand and study long term, this part is for you. BLS is registered under the Ministry of Education, and students in our long term programs are eligible for an Education Visa (Non Immigrant ED) through the school. Our team helps you with the paperwork along the way.
The process published on our visa page looks like this:
- Enrol in a Thai or English course at BLS.
- Submit your documents, including passport copies and photographs.
- The school submits your application to the Ministry of Education for approval.
- After approval, you apply for the visa at a Thai embassy or consulate.
ED Visa students need regular class attendance and must follow immigration rules, such as reporting every 90 days. For full details, please read our visa information page or ask our team directly. It is always best to check with us before you make plans.
Still Not Sure? Ask Yourself These 3 Questions
- Why am I learning? For an exam, a specific goal or a deadline, private lessons are often the fastest path. For general confidence and conversation, groups are wonderful.
- How much time do I really have? Be honest. A plan you can keep is better than a perfect plan you give up after two weeks.
- Where will I study best? Some people focus better in a classroom. Others love learning from their sofa. Hybrid lets you try both.
There is no wrong answer. The best class format is simply the one that keeps you coming back.
